Mesa Volleyball League

June 25, 2010

I was contacted by the City of Mesa a couple of days ago informing me that they are planning on starting their league back up in the fall.  YA!  They were really surprised that we’ve kept our league running so they’ve been working really carefully not to step on any toes.  I’ve been telling them what we’ve been doing and how we set things up and I said one of the plusses of our league was having online registration instead of having to go down and hand in their registration.  So they’re going to do online registration too, but the teams would have to call in ahead of time and get a team code.  They’re going to keep the nights the same on Thursday @ the BRC.  I’m thinking they’ll start some time in September.  She said they are going to start advertising the women’s vb league next week and let everyone else know they’re starting it up again which means first come, first serve.  Mine and Rebecca’s goal with keeping our league running was just to maintain the level of competitiveness that we had until the city could pick it up again.  I think we’ve done that!  Here is the link to the website where you will need to keep checking for updates for the fall league signups.  It would’ve been nice to keep the double headers but the city said there’s no way they could do that.  Understood. There will be more info to come but until then, please email your team and let them know of this transition.  I really want to support the city in their efforts so hopefully we’ll see you all in the fall.  Thanks for all of your support through this!
